A tough half marathon course with a little of everything included: rail trail, dirt roads, switchbacks, stairs, very technical singletrack and some big climbs.
Discover Pass required. Park at the Clayton Beach Parking Lot and walk to the start as there isn't enough parking at the Lost Lake Parking Lot.
Start in the Lost Lake Parking Lot heading up Fragrance Lake Road
. Take a quick left and run beside the fence to access the Interurban Trail
. Continue on the Interurban Trail
until you reach Cleator Road
. Take right and head up Cleator Road
about half a mile. Turn right onto Two Dollar
. Climb to Fragrance Lake. Turn right onto the Fragrance Lake Loop
for a short distance.
After crossing the wooden walkway, head right and turn left through the wooden access gate. Head down Fragrance Lake Road
for about 200m and turn left onto Lost Lake Trail
. You'll climb for about a mile and half and then drop for close to mile before seeing the Rock Trail
on your left. Head up the Rock Trail
with it's many switchbacks and stairs. Head up Chinscraper to the very top before coming down to the Chuckanut Ridge Trail
. Continue on the Chuckanut Ridge Trail
for about 2.5 miles where you'll see Dan's Traverse
on your left.
At the end of Dan's Traverse
you'll come to a dirt road. Take a left and run up Cleator Road
a mile where you'll see a small parking area. Take a right on the Fragrance Lake Road
extension trail. Head down this trail until it turns into a dirt road. Take a right through the wooden gate.
Take a left onto Fragrance Lake Trail
and head down to the Interurban Trail
. Turn left and watch for a small trail to your right which will take you down to Chuckanut Drive. Cross this paved road and continue down a gated paved access road to the Clayton Beach Parking Lot. Head down the walkway to the band shell to complete the half marathon course.
